Sound Relief – Sydney Cricket Ground 2009

Wireless Spectrum Manager – Sydney

This event co-sited at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground was organised in a matter of weeks as a response to the tragic bush fires in Victoria during January 2009.

Commencing with Coldplay, ending with Barry Gibb and Olivia Newton-John together, and with a live cross to a simulcast (SCG and MCG) speech by HRH Prince Andrew from London slotted in the middle, the event ran for 10 hours. Numerous wireless systems were required for the various acts, some of whom advised additional requirements upon arrival. Sound Relief won a “Helpman Award” for “Best Special Event”.
